However, doping a small amount of Sr for La in La(2)GeO(5) was effective to stabilize the high-temperature crystal structure to low temperature.

The change in the activation energy of the oxide ion conductivity seems to be caused by a change in the local oxygen vacancy structure. The GEO5 suite of programs is designed to solve various geotechnical problems. On the other hand, a change in the activation energy for oxide ion conductivity was observed at 973 K, and at intermediate temperature, the oxide ion conductivity of La(1.61)GeO(5 - delta) became much smaller than that of these well-known fast oxide ion conductors. At a temperature higher than 1000 K, the oxide ion conductivity of La(1.61)GeO(5 - delta) was almost the same as that of La(0.9)Sr(0.1)Ga(0.8)Mg(0.2)O(3 - delta) or Ce(0.85)Gd(0.15)O(2 - delta), which are well-known fast oxide ion conductors. The oxide ion transport number in La(2)GeO(5)-based oxide was estimated to be unity by the electromotive force measurement in H(2)-O(2) and N(2)-O(2) gas concentration cells. Conductivity increased with increasing the amount of La deficiency and the maximum value was attained at x = 0.39 in La(2 - x)GeO(5 - delta). The crystal structure of La(2)GeO(5) was estimated to be monoclinic with P2(1)/c space group. All we are is dust in the wind.Oxide ion conductivity in La(2)GeO(5)-based oxide was investigated and it was found that La-deficient La(2)GeO(5) exhibits oxide ion conductivity over a wide range of oxygen partial pressure. But if you have ambitions of going places, I'm sure you will notice a performance improvement with the latest Geo - or any similar new light B wing. If you're just into a spot of local soaring, perhaps the old Geo will still do. It will also depend on the kind of flying you want to do, with the benefit of more flying time now that you're retired.(yaaay!) I had also noticed this in flight when sinking out in comparison to a mate on a newer, but comparable, Ozone wing. But although I also fly low hours (only about 20-30 hrs p.a.) I was disappointed to find out that on test - after eight years fairly careful use - the condition of the fabric had deteriorated, and it was a borderline airworthy reading for porosity. To help you decide, I wonder if it's worth having a porosity test of your trusty Geo 1.? However, for such a low amount of flying, is it worth it ?

Posted: Sun 14:02 UTC Post subject: RE: Ozone Geo 1 vs Geo 5 Does anyone have any thoughts about whether this would be worthwhile? I retired early 2018 and since then have spent more time paragliding and consequently I was toying with the idea of upgrading from a Geo 1 to a Geo 5. I've been paragliding for about twenty years, albeit with a low number of hours annually - around 2 or 3 on an Ozone Geo 1.
